  RAIN OR SHINE: SUMMER 2008

It’s been another great summer at Muskoka Woods! Alumni who had the opportunity to visit us through the summer months can attest to the fun had this season. Amidst the record breaking number of days of rain, we were greatly blessed at Muskoka Woods with over 4900 guests passing through the front gate. With more than 300 staff, there are numerous stories of God’s hand at work in the lives of youth coming to the Woods. To give you a brief glimpse into this summer at Muskoka Woods, here are just a few quotes from some of our staff….

“The kids that have come this summer have been so open and receptive to what we have been teaching them about God. One boy was given a bible at the end of the week. As soon as we gave it to him, he put down the ball he was playing with and started to read it. It just made me so happy to see him, and made me think, “am I willing to stop what I am doing to spend time with God?” ”

Muskoka Woods Welcomes Alumnus Brian McAuley to the Team

We sat down and talked with Muskoka Woods Foundation’s new Executive Director

Tell us a bit about yourself.

This past June I joined Muskoka Woods to lead the Muskoka Woods Foundation as Executive Director. Having spent the previous 17 years working in the corporate world, it is with great excitement that I have made the transition to the world of camp. When I last worked at Muskoka Woods, I was 17 years old! No matter how long I have been away, Muskoka Woods has never left me. As I spent time on the property this summer, I reflected on the impact and life-changing experience that had taken place here. Seeing my three sons on site filled me with a mixture of emotions and excitement for what experiences could be in store for them in the future.

Saving any Old Muskoka Woods Staff Uniforms?

Want to clean out your closet?

We are looking to collect Staff Uniforms for Muskoka Woods from each summer season over the last 30 years. If you have any old Staff Uniforms from any season of Muskoka Woods and wish to donate them to us, we’d love to clear the space out of your closet!
